About the Department

Virtual, augmented, and mixed reality technologies have become part of modern medicine, industry, education, architecture, defense, and the entertainment industry. They are no longer niche technologies but one of the key drivers of the digital world's development.

At the same time, the demands placed on specialists are changing. A modern XR developer needs to combine knowledge of programming, computer graphics, 3D modeling, human-computer interaction, artificial intelligence, and other fields. That is why educating such specialists requires a new approach.

The Department of Virtual Reality Systems was established in 2024 in response to these changes. We believe that XR technologies should form the foundation of the educational program, rather than being treated as merely supplementary subjects in the curriculum. This approach gives students a systematic understanding of XR while helping them develop the skills that strengthen their competitiveness in the job market.

The department's second guiding principle is continuous cooperation with business. We believe that modern IT education cannot be created by the university community alone. That is why, from the very beginning, the department has worked with business representatives, professional communities, and IT companies to ensure that education keeps pace with technological development and the real needs of the market.

We aim to create an environment where education, research, and business work together, giving students not only a solid foundation but also an understanding of how modern XR technologies can be applied to solve real-world problems.
